St. Mbaaga’s Major Seminary has today graduated 55 seminarians who successfully completed their Diplomas in Philosophy and Theology, marking a key milestone in their journey toward the Catholic priesthood.
The ceremony, held during the Seminary’s 41st graduation at the grounds in Ggaba, Makindye Division, was conducted under the theme: “The favors of the Lord I will recall.”
In the same event, 41 seminarians were also commissioned for their pastoral year of ministry, where they will serve in various communities as part of their practical formation.
In his address, the Rector, Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Sserunjogi, encouraged the graduands to embrace lifelong learning and continue shaping their character as future ministers of the Church.
He emphasized that priestly formation extends beyond academic achievement into personal discipline, moral integrity, and service.
Fr. Sserunjogi also shared five guiding principles with the outgoing deacons, urging them to embrace humanity, uphold truth even in challenging circumstances, and use knowledge responsibly for the good of society.
He further reminded them to remain grounded in ecclesial teaching, morals, and values as they begin pastoral ministry.
He expressed gratitude to the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, for his continued support and significant contribution to the growth and development of the seminary.
