Lwemiyaga County Member of Parliament–elect, Brigadier General Emmanuel Rwashande, has announced that the UPDF Engineering Brigade, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, will construct a Health Centre IV facility worth 1.4 billion shillings in Lwemiyaga County.
Rwashande said construction is set to begin next month and is expected to be completed within twelve months. The project aims to improve access to healthcare, particularly for mothers and families, and reduce pressure on existing health services.
He highlighted that many pregnant women currently travel long distances to access care, a challenge the new facility is expected to address.
Rwashande also revealed ongoing efforts to attract government support and Chinese investors to establish an industrial park in the area, which would create jobs for local youth and help reduce unemployment.
