The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) government says it has fulfilled 88% of its 2021–2026 manifesto commitments.

This was revealed by Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja during an end-of-term evaluation held at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Out of 809 pledges, 435 have been fully implemented, 262 are still in progress, while 110 remain unaddressed.

Among the key achievements, Nabbanja highlighted strong economic growth, with Uganda’s economy expanding from 128.5 trillion shillings in 2019 to 226.3 trillion in the 2024/2025 financial year.

It is projected to reach 254.2 trillion shillings by the end of the current financial year.

She also pointed to a decline in poverty levels, from 21.4% in 2016 to 16.1% in 2025.

The proportion of households in the subsistence economy has dropped from 68% in 2014 to 33% in 2024, partly attributed to the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM).

In the education sector, enrollment in government-aided primary schools has increased significantly, from 2.5 million in 1996 to 9.1 million today.

Meanwhile, NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong has called on government agencies to intensify the fight against corruption in the next political term (2026–2031).

He emphasized the need to focus on wealth creation, land dispute resolution, value addition in agriculture, and tourism development.
