Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Church Break-In in Wakiso, Warn of Rising Theft at Places of Worship

Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke

Police in Wakiso District have arrested three suspects, including individuals believed to be Christians, in connection with a break-in at a church in Kavumba.

According to Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, the suspects allegedly broke into Kavumba Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church on April 11 and stole a music amplifier and other property.

The stolen items were later recovered from a nearby house, where police also found additional property suspected to have been taken from a mosque.

The suspects, identified as Ronald Ssekitooleko, Wabwire, and Robert, are currently in police custody as investigations continue.

Rusoke cautioned that places of worship are increasingly being targeted by criminals, sometimes involving individuals from within religious communities.

He urged religious leaders to enhance security measures, including installing CCTV cameras and avoiding complacency in safeguarding church property.
