ODPP Intensifies Digital Transformation Drive with High-Level Engagement

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, John Baptist Asiimwe

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has launched a high-level engagement with regional officers aimed at fast-tracking its digital transformation agenda.

The meeting brings together top management and field officers to assess current data systems, align institutional priorities, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making across the country.

Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, John Baptist Asiimwe, underscored the importance of accurate and timely data in the delivery of justice.

He called on regional officers to take personal responsibility for ensuring the integrity and reliability of information from their respective jurisdictions.

Meanwhile, Director of Public Prosecutions, Lino Anguzu, signaled a firm shift towards digital operations, urging officers to embrace technology and take the lead in transitioning to a more modern and responsive prosecution service.

He emphasized that progress in digitalization must be accompanied by strong ethical standards, effective supervision, and measurable performance outcomes.

The engagement forms part of a broader strategy to modernize the ODPP, strengthen oversight, and enhance service delivery within Uganda’s justice system.
