The Holy See Press Office has released the official programme for Pope Leo XIV’s upcoming Apostolic Journey to Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, and Equatorial Guinea, scheduled to take place from April 13 to 23, 2026.

This visit will mark the Pope’s third Apostolic Journey outside Italy since the beginning of his pontificate.

It follows his late-2025 trip to Türkiye and Lebanon, as well as a forthcoming visit to Monaco on March 28.

According to the programme released on Monday, the 11-day journey will span 11 cities and include a total of six greetings, ten addresses, and eight homilies, reflecting a packed schedule of pastoral and diplomatic engagements.

The journey will begin in Algiers, where the Pope is set to arrive on Monday, April 13.

Upon landing, he will visit the Maqam Echahid a monument inaugurated in 1982 to commemorate the Algerian War and the 20th anniversary of Algeria’s independence.

There, he will deliver his first official greeting of the trip.
