Police in the Savannah Region have intercepted and impounded a Mercedes-Benz trailer following a fatal hit-and-run accident in Lubenge Village, Kakooge Town Council, approximately 90 kilometers into Nakasongola District along the Kampala–Gulu Highway.
The trailer (registration SSD 694V / ZC 2435), with a black head and army-green trailer, collided with a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle (registration UMA 840EQ) carrying two passengers and sacks of charcoal.
Both vehicles were traveling from Nakasongola toward Kampala.
The trailer reportedly struck the motorcycle, causing it to fall, and ran over the rider’s head, killing him instantly.
The deceased has been identified as Isaac Mubiru, 27, of Kirowooza Village, Kakooge Town Council.
The passenger, Moses Ssemambo, sustained injuries and was rushed to a health facility for treatment.
Isaac Mubiru’s body has been taken to Nakasongola Mortuary for postmortem examination.
