Police have launched investigations to establish the motive behind the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old bar waitress allegedly by a security guard in Nansana.
According to Racheal Kawala, the deceased has been identified as Immaculate Mpereza, a resident of Nansana West B in Nansana Municipality.
The suspect, Vincent Kimonyo, 53, is a security guard reportedly attached to New Security Corp.
Preliminary reports indicate that on March 1, 2026, at around midday, the suspect allegedly shot the victim at People’s Bar in Nansana East.
She was rushed to Sebi Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Kawala said investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting and assured the public that the suspect is in custody as inquiries continue.
