Police have revealed that 1,185 suspects were arrested last week during 45 coordinated security operations conducted across the country.
The highest number of arrests was recorded in the Kampala Metropolitan area.
Kampala Metropolitan East registered 334 suspects, followed by Kampala Metropolitan North with 317 and Kampala Metropolitan South with 308.
According to Kituuma Rusoke, many of those arrested have been linked to multiple crimes through forensic evidence, while others were identified using road CCTV camera footage.
Police have so far arraigned 2,052 suspects before court, as investigations continue against 232 others.
Rusoke said security operations remain ongoing nationwide as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to curb criminal activity.
Authorities are also reviewing videos circulating online showing vehicles being struck with a paver in alleged robbery attempts.
Police say members of the public are increasingly cooperating by sharing information to help identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
