Three suspects have been arrested and 10 suspected stolen motorcycles recovered in an intelligence-led operation targeting a string of motorcycle robberies in Wakiso District.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, the suspects were apprehended in Old Kampala and Bukesa–Nankulabye following investigations into a series of violent robberies involving boda boda riders.
The breakthrough comes after a case of aggravated robbery reported on 13 February 2026 at around 10:00 p.m., when Equiam Ssesanga told police that assailants allegedly armed with pangas forcefully stole his motorcycle, registration UMA 191 DV (Bajaj Boxer).
Kawala confirmed that the operation led to the recovery of 10 suspected stolen motorcycles, including registration numbers UDH 516H, UGB 248V, UEV 046C, UDH 746H, UDK 657F, UDN 001C, as well as four unregistered Bajaj motorcycles.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to multiple criminal activities, including motorcycle theft, highway phone snatching, housebreaking, and other related offenses.
Police investigations into the broader criminal network and possible accomplices are ongoing, Kawala added.
