NRM's Peter Agaba Wins Ibanda Municipality Parliamentary Race

The Ibanda District Returning Officer, Aidah Barekye, has officially declared Peter Agaba, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer, as the winner of the Ibanda Municipality parliamentary race.

Barekye made the announcement this morning at 8:41 a.m., confirming Agaba as the elected candidate for the Ibanda Municipality constituency after he secured 14,279 votes. His closest rival, Innocent Bakamuhara, garnered 12,904 votes.

Other candidates in the race included Sarapio Betungura, who received 117 votes, and Rashid Muganda Kirangwa, who earned zero votes.

Following his declaration, Agaba urged both his supporters and opponents to unite in working towards the development of Ibanda.

The Electoral Commission (EC) had previously postponed the voting for the Ibanda Municipality parliamentary seat due to a complaint raised by independent candidate Rashid Muganda Kirangwa, who had objected to being assigned the wrong symbol.
