Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija with President Museveni.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has highlighted Seven focus areas in his political term that starts in May this year.

To start with among the seven are; Wealth Creation to get the 30% households still trapped in abject poverty through government programs that directly give them money like the Parish Development model among others.

This was contained in his address at the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the NRM/A liberation day today at Kololo Ceremonial grounds.

Once money allows free education will be next, improvement on health services especially on curative approach, construction and rehabilitation of rural road network, Job creation that he tagged to wealth creation and creation of a revolving fund for unemployed graduates and lastly Justice that is corruption free.

He emphasised that the newly appointed Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija has been put to task to fight corruption in Judiciary a cancer that has killed Justice for all.

Although Dr. Zeija has already embarked on the problem through public engagement Museveni says the public should be engaged more to support evidence against corrupt judicial officers who kill the dispensation of Justice and taint the government image.

Lastly he reminded of the need for the East African Market for the local products that have created USD 2.37 Bn saving from the balance of payment and with the production of Oil by this year this saving will accumulate to save much of the country’s needs.

Museveni reiterated the country’s economic growth of 6% expected to contribute USD 66 billion in GDP in 2026, largely attributed to; services, agriculture, and increasing industry and wealth creation in the new government.

At the same function a total of 33 Ugandans were awarded with medals for distinguished service during the 40th anniversary celebrations of the NRM/A liberation day.
