General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni NRM presidential candidate

President Yoweri Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity and a non-discriminatory approach to leadership, saying these principles have been central to Uganda’s development journey.

Museveni highlighted the ideals of patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy, which he said have guided his leadership over the past four decades.

He made the remarks at Mbirizi Seed Secondary School playground in Lwengo District during his first campaign rally, where he urged residents to re-elect him and other NRM candidates in order to sustain development and accelerate socio-economic transformation.

The president emphasized that the NRM’s ideology has promoted national cohesion and driven steady development across the country.

He pledged to scale up major infrastructure projects, particularly as Uganda prepares to begin oil exploitation programs next year.

Museveni encouraged voters to continue supporting the NRM, describing it as a party that belongs to the people and works in their interest.

He also commended Lwengo District for effectively utilizing government-distributed coffee seedlings under Operation Wealth Creation and the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS).

Museveni noted that individual efforts by coffee farmers have significantly boosted Uganda’s coffee exports, which have grown from three million to 10 million bags.

The president promised continued government support to coffee farmers, including the expansion of irrigation systems to improve productivity.
