The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has promised to prioritize Ugandans in contract allocation, saying his government will not allow foreigners to take charge of contracts at the expense of locals.
Addressing rallies in Sembabule and Bukomansimbi districts, Nandala Mafabi emphasized the need to empower citizens through local contracts, citing the potential to create employment opportunities and boost economic growth.
Nandala Mafabi stressed that his government will ensure Ugandans are given contracts to supply goods and services, adding that this will help to retain money within the country and strengthen the shilling.
He cited examples of neighboring countries like Rwanda and Tanzania, which prioritize local contracts to boost their economies.
Nandala Mafabi also addressed gatherings in Mateete, Nteete, Lwebitakuli, Mijwaala, Butenga, Sembabule town and Bukomansimbi town among other areas where he promised to tackle corruption and poverty, saying his government will block channels through which billions of shillings are stolen annually.
He emphasized that if voted, he will use the saved resources to improve service delivery, reduce taxes, and boost economic growth.
Nandala Mafabi outlined the FDC manifesto, focusing on key areas such as: Quality Education: Improving education standards and providing feeding programs for school children, Healthcare: Enhancing healthcare services and making them accessible to all, Employment Opportunities: Creating jobs and promoting economic growth, Social Welfare: Improving salaries for civil servants and providing affordable housing
He urged voters to elect him as president to bring about positive change and improve the lives of Ugandans.
