The Electoral Commission has commenced the issuance of the voter Location slips (VLS) to voters across the country to enable them conveniently locate their respective polling stations on the polling day.
Speaking to the press at the commission’s offices in Kampala the deputy chairperson of EC Hajjati Aisha Lubega explained that the issuance of VLS kicked off yesterday 16th December and it will run upto 13th January 2026. The voters will find the VLS at their respective parishes or ward across the country.
She says the VLS bears the particulars of a voter name , photography ,date of birth and location and this will be used by voters to vote the president ,members of parliament , district/ city chairpersons and councilors, municipality/ city divisions chairperson and councillors ,sub county ,town / municipal division chairperson and councillors elections .
Hajjati Aisha Lubega has advised Ugandans who are to vote to secure their VLS and ensure that the barcode is not tampered with.
