Museveni Urges Bukedi Leaders to Promote Wealth Creation and Modern Farming

General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

Speaking to over 10,000 NRM leaders gathered at Pallisa Secondary School in Pallisa District, Museveni stressed that these initiatives are crucial for advancing socio-economic transformation in the region.

The meeting, organized by the Speaker of Parliament and NRM’s Second National Vice Chairperson, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, brought together leaders from Pallisa, Tororo, Busia, Butebo, Butaleja, and Kibuku districts.

Museveni reaffirmed the NRM government’s commitment to expanding economic opportunities in the Bukedi sub-region.

He specifically highlighted the government’s plans to aggressively promote fish farming as a key strategy to boost household incomes and empower local communities.

The President urged the people of Bukedi to focus on wealth creation, explaining that wealth generated by individuals and families leads to sustainable job creation, particularly through commercial agriculture, factories, ICT, and services.

He also tasked local leaders with ensuring that government programs reach the households that need them the most.

In his address, Museveni also urged the people of Pallisa to vote for the NRM in the upcoming 2026 elections.

He highlighted the party’s contributions over the past 40 years, including peace, infrastructure development, wealth creation, job creation, market expansion, and regional integration.
