Five religious Sisters from the Institute of the Good Samaritan in Nalukolongo took their final vows, committing their lives to God’s service on Monday.
The ceremony, held at the Institute’s motherhouse, was officiated by the Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, alongside Mother General Rev. Sr. Maria Evangelist Mugisha.
In his address, Archbishop Ssemogerere thanked the Sisters for their devotion and urged them to rely on God’s grace to faithfully fulfill their vows as Good Samaritans, offering their lives in service to God and the most vulnerable members of society.
The Archbishop also acknowledged the dedication of the entire religious community, commending their tireless efforts in showing love and compassion to the forgotten and marginalized, and restoring faith, hope, and love to those in need.
In a poignant moment during the ceremony, Archbishop Ssemogerere called on all Ugandans to offer fervent prayers for peaceful elections, with Uganda’s next presidential elections scheduled for January 15th, 2026.
The five Sisters who made their final religious professions are Sr. Maria Anastasia Katusabe from Busesa Parish in Hoima Diocese, Sr. Maria Josephine Mbabazi from Kiryarugonjo Parish in Hoima Diocese, Sr. Maria Caroline Namisango from Kaasangalabi Parish in Lugazi Diocese, Sr. Maria Dafoloza Tusiime from Hoima Diocese, and Sr. Maria Brenda Nakyanga from Kkonge Parish in Kampala Archdiocese.
Joining them was Sr. Cissy Namujuzi, who is celebrating her Silver Jubilee in religious life.
The Sisters’ final vows marked a moment of deep spiritual commitment and a renewed dedication to their mission of service.
