Pope Leo XIV emphasized the need for artificial intelligence to reflect the divine design of God the Creator, underscoring its role in promoting human dignity, justice, and the common good.
In a message to participants of the 2025 Builders AI Forum, held at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, the Pope called for the development of ethical technologies as a shared ecclesial mission.
The Pope explained that artificial intelligence should be intelligent, relational, and guided by love, principles that mirror God’s design for humanity.
He urged those involved in AI from scientists and entrepreneurs to pastoral leaders to ensure that emerging technologies remained grounded in respect for human dignity.
He also expressed his deep gratitude to those committed to aligning innovation with the Church’s mission, acknowledging the vital contributions of researchers, entrepreneurs, and pastoral visionaries who were working to bridge the gap between technological advancement and the Church’s teachings on justice and the common good.
