The Member of Parliament for Arua City Central Division and Deputy Coordinator of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) for Northern Uganda, Hon. Jackson Atima, has strongly criticized those spreading misinformation about President Museveni’s appointments to high office.
This statement comes in the wake of the recent appointment of Lino Anguzu from Arua City as the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), replacing Jane Frances Abodo, who was recently promoted to the position of Principal Judge.
Atima argued that the appointment of Anguzu proves that President Museveni’s selections are not based on regional or ethnic considerations but rather on merit.
He stated that those accusing the president of selective appointments are enemies of the country.
The MP went on to declare that this appointment signals strong support for the president in Arua, adding that Museveni can expect 85% of the vote from the region in the upcoming January 2026 elections.
