The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, Patrick Ocailap, has issued a strong call to government employees who are unable to meet their responsibilities to consider resigning, in order to make room for new talent and enhance the effectiveness of service delivery within government departments.
Ocailap stressed the vital importance of effective service delivery in government operations, particularly as many citizens rely on public sector services.
He pointed out that government employees must be both committed and capable to meet the needs of the people they serve, and emphasized that those who cannot fulfill these responsibilities should step aside to allow for improvements.
However, Ocailap also took the opportunity to commend several government departments, including the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA), the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), and the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), for their smooth engagement with the public and their efficient handling of business transactions.
