The Electoral Commission (EC) has advised all nominated candidates for parliamentary positions to refrain from open campaigning before 10th November 2025.
This directive was issued by Wakiso District Returning Officer Tolbert Musinguzi during the second day of the Wakiso District nomination exercise.
Musinguzi explained that the Commission will first hold a harmonization meeting to align candidates’ schedules and prevent clashes with opponents.
The meeting is scheduled from 24th to 27th November 2025, according to the EC.
Today marks the final day of the nomination exercise, covering the constituencies of Busiro South, Busiro North, Busiro East, and Kyadondo.
Among those successfully nominated is National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Mathias Walukaga, who pledged to work collaboratively with his opponents in Busiro East to develop the constituency.
Other candidates who have been duly nominated include Emmanuel Matovu Magoola (Independent), Apollo Kantinti (FDC), Hajji Abudallah Kiyimba (NRM) for Busiro East, Matia Lwanga Bwanika (Independent) for Busiro South, and Ronald Semaganda (NUP) for Busiro North, among others.
With the nomination exercise concluding today, the stage is now set for the upcoming parliamentary campaigns.
