FDC presidential candidate Nandala Mafabi has vowed to tackle the issue of cattle rustling in Kotido District and provide guaranteed security for the region, which has long been plagued by attacks from armed warriors.
Speaking to locals in Nakapelimoru Sub-County, Kotido, during his campaign on Thursday afternoon, Mafabi assured residents that the problem of insecurity would end immediately upon his election to the presidency.
Residents shared their concerns about the ongoing raids by armed groups, which continue to threaten both their livestock and lives.
Mafabi responded with a commitment to prioritize security in the region, pledging full support to ensure peace and stability.
Mafabi, who began his campaign in Northern Uganda yesterday, also promised to address poverty in the region.
He emphasized that his government would work to uplift the community by creating economic opportunities and improving infrastructure.
Additionally, Mafabi vowed to release all youth who had been arrested and imprisoned for unclear political reasons, a move that he believes will foster unity and healing.
Calling on the people of Northern Uganda to rally behind his candidacy, Mafabi urged them to vote for him, promising to ensure that the region no longer remains neglected, but becomes an integral part of the country’s growth and development.
