The Opposition National Economic Empowerment for Dialogue (NEED) party has strongly denied circulating claims that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work with President Museveni in the 2026 general elections.
The false information reportedly originated from a post on Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabanja’s X account, suggesting that NEED had entered into an agreement to support President Museveni.
Addressing journalists today (Friday), Moses Matovu, the party spokesperson, dismissed the claims as baseless attempts to tarnish NEED’s reputation.
He reiterated that the party does not hold any political affiliations or endorsements of individual leaders.
Matovu clarified that NEED’s focus remains on promoting economic empowerment and development initiatives benefiting all Ugandans, irrespective of political allegiance.
He urged the public to disregard the misinformation and instead concentrate on the party’s core mission of empowering citizens through economic opportunities and social development.
