The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has directed Vipers Sports Club President, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, to ensure the club fully participates in the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season, despite the club’s earlier announcement rejecting the newly introduced league format.
In a strongly worded communication, FUFA reminded Vipers SC and its leadership that all clubs, including Vipers, were consulted and engaged during the reform process.
The federation emphasized that several meetings were held where the changes were deliberated, adjusted, and agreed upon collectively by club committees, presidents, and patrons.
FUFA further clarified that Vipers SC had already applied for a club license and signed Compliance Form 901, officially confirming its participation in the upcoming season.
The federation reaffirmed that Vipers SC has been scheduled to play its opening match in a double-header fixture against Kitara Football Club on Saturday at Namboole Stadium.
The directive puts pressure on the Vipers SC leadership to reverse its decision and align with the rest of the football fraternity in embracing the new format, which FUFA maintains is critical for the growth and modernization of Ugandan football.
