John Isabirye, Key Accounts Manager at MTN MoMo Uganda

The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has officially announced MTN MoMo as the exclusive payments partner for the upcoming Uganda International Trade Fair (UITF), slated to take place from 2nd to 12th October 2025 at the UMA Showgrounds, Lugogo.

Organized annually by UMA, the Uganda International Trade Fair is one of the largest multi-sectoral exhibitions in the region, drawing local, regional, and international exhibitors.

This year’s edition will be held under the theme: “Sustainable Industrialization for Inclusive Growth, Employment and Wealth Creation.”

Over 1,000 local manufacturers and 150 international exhibitors from 30 countries are expected to showcase their innovations.

Speaking at the unveiling event at UMA’s head offices, John Isabirye, Key Accounts Manager at MTN MoMo Uganda, emphasized the role of digital transformation in simplifying daily transactions.

“The world is going digital, and this shift has made business operations much easier. MTN MoMo is here to ensure that both exhibitors and visitors have a smooth, cashless experience, whether it’s buying goods or booking entry tickets,” said Isabirye.

Through the MoMo Ticketing platform, visitors will be able to purchase discounted tickets in advance, reducing congestion and wait times at entry points.

Once inside the exhibition, attendees can conveniently pay for goods and services using MTN MoMo, and enjoy exclusive discounts on selected products.

To enhance the digital experience, MTN will also provide 5G internet coverage throughout the 11-day Trade Fair, offering exhibitors and visitor’s fast, reliable connectivity.

The event’s Chief Guest, Eng. James Kalibala, Chairperson of the National Standards Council (NCS), commended UMA and MTN for their forward-thinking collaboration.

He also underscored the importance of continued innovation in expanding markets for Uganda’s locally manufactured products.
