President Yoweri Museveni has issued a stern warning to anyone who might attempt to disrupt Uganda’s peace during the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Speaking at the opening of the NRM delegates’ conference held at Kololo ceremonial grounds, Museveni underscored the critical importance of maintaining the peace and stability that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has safeguarded for over 40 years.
He urged all Ugandans to reject those who seek to disturb the country’s peace, emphasizing that lasting peace is rooted in truth.
President Museveni also called for a united front to tackle persistent challenges such as corruption, land grabbing, crime, and wetland destruction at the local level.
Furthermore, he encouraged citizens to embrace technology, commercial agriculture, and entrepreneurship as effective tools in the fight against poverty.
Addressing newly elected NRM leaders, Museveni advised them to focus on guiding their constituents and actively involving them in government programs rather than trying to personally solve all problems or using their own funds to improve welfare.
