The hearing of a case in which Noah Mitala, also known as Noah Mutwe the bodyguard of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party president is accused of inciting violence and spreading malicious communication against top government officials has flopped.
Mitala is jointly charged with ASP Charles Twine.
The alleged targets of their communication include President Yoweri Museveni, UPDF Commander Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, and Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa.
According to the prosecution, the duos who are currently out on bail committed the offences between January 2024 and May 2025 using electronic communication platforms.
However, the case, which was scheduled to be heard today at Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court, did not proceed due to the absence of state prosecutors, who were reportedly engaged in other cases.
Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi has adjourned the matter to 24th September 2025.
