The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba, has called on clergy across the country to prioritize their relationship with God over titles, positions, or personal achievements.
Speaking at the official opening of the All Clergy Conference 2025 at Uganda Christian University in Mukono, Archbishop Kaziimba reminded church leaders that true spiritual authority stems from walking closely with God not from ecclesiastical rank or human accolades.
“Feed the flock like a cow feeding her calves,” Kaziimba said, symbolizing the need for clergy to nourish their congregations with sound doctrine while guarding them against heretical teachings.
The Archbishop also emphasized the importance of unity among church leaders, urging them to remain steadfast and faithful in the face of spiritual and societal challenges.
Referencing Uganda’s recent football victory over South Africa, Kaziimba encouraged attendees not to lose hope in difficult times, stating, “God is never late He often acts when hope seems lost.”
He concluded with a message of assurance: “No matter your station or circumstance, God will never abandon you.”
The four-day conference, held under the theme “The Good Shepherd and the Flock of God” (Ezekiel 34:1–31), has drawn clergy from all 39 dioceses of the Church of Uganda.
It aims to foster spiritual renewal, enhance leadership capacity, and strengthen ministry development across the church.
