As schools close for second term holidays, parents are being urged to personally collect their children to prevent loss of belongings and protect them from exploitation.
Mohammad Ssempijja, a concerned leader and taxi driver at Namayiba Taxi Park in Kampala, has raised awareness about the risks faced by unaccompanied children during this period.
He warns that children traveling alone are vulnerable to opportunists who may mislead or expose them to harmful situations.
While these concerns are not new, many parents continue to overlook the risks, often prioritizing work over their children’s safety.
The call emphasizes the critical role of parental responsibility in ensuring children return home safely and avoid unnecessary harm.
