School administrations are warned against running after politicians to head the Parents Teachers Associations P.T.A.
P.T.A is a formal organization within a school composed of parents, teachers, and sometimes students, working together to improve the school environment and enhance students’ educational experiences.
With the growing misconception that politicians can easily raise funds to support struggling schools most times the same politicians are a bed of problem. If they are chairperson most times they are involved in causing divisions which frustrate school operations.
Alex Patrick Ssemanda the PTA Chairman at St Joseph SSS Naggalama during his interface with the members of the PTA at St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde before they elected new leaders to spar the school operations.
Ssemanda explained that PTAs foster communication and collaboration between parents and teachers, facilitating discussions, problem-solving, and fundraising for school initiatives. They also advocate for student well-being, safety, and educational quality. These most times call for dedicated persons who are offering service than thinking of individual benefits.
Shortly after that interaction the new PTA team of St Cyprian High School Kyabakadde was elected with Kigozi Richard Ndugga becoming the new chairman, assisted by Joseph Wasiko Waneba, Nakiyimba Bernadette is the new secretary, Naiga Sylvia Treasurer Namakula Sarama and Peter Paul Malobaare committee member plus6parents’ representatives who are chairpersons for each class.
The school head teacher Joseph Kamya emphasized parent-child guidance a moment which is lacking and has created undisciplined children and students.
The new PTA team promised to work towards the improvement on school security by erecting a perimeter wall around the school, support career guidance and counseling of students, morals and values for a changed citizen, mobilize for the purchase of water tanks to reduce on the scarcity of water among others.
