As Uganda moves toward the 2026 general elections, the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has issued a stern warning to aspiring candidates against the indiscriminate placement of campaign posters across the city.
Speaking to the media in Kampala on Monday afternoon, KCCA Executive Director Sharifah Buzeki announced that the Authority has developed clear guidelines for the use of campaign materials during the election period.
These regulations are intended to ensure order, protect public infrastructure, and prevent the illegal defacement of city property.
“Posters placed in unauthorized areas will be pulled down without warning,” Buzeki cautioned, urging candidates to strictly adhere to the established rules.
She also revealed plans to engage Secretary Generals of various political parties to help communicate and enforce the guidelines ahead of the campaign season.
In a related appeal, Buzeki called on City workers to stay focused on their duties and avoid becoming overly involved in political activities.
