Journalist Lubega among first to submit nomination forms in PFF’s 2026 candidate race

Francis Lubega, a journalist with Radio Sapientia, became one of the early aspirants to formally submit his documents.

Members of the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) have started returning expression of interest forms as part of the nomination process for party flag bearers ahead of the 2026 general elections.

On the second day of the exercise, Francis Lubega, a journalist with Radio Sapientia, became one of the early aspirants to formally submit his documents.

He is seeking the PFF ticket to contest for the Makindye East Constituency seat in Kampala Capital City.

Lubega’s forms were received by Latif Waiswa Maido, a member of the PFF Electoral Commission, who confirmed that Lubega would undergo the party’s vetting process, which he assured would be free, transparent, and fair.

Following his nomination, Lubega appealed to voters in Makindye East to reject selfish leadership, pledging a people-centered agenda and promising to prioritize service delivery if granted the party’s endorsement.

The PFF has announced that it will continue receiving and processing nomination forms in the coming days as it prepares to field candidates nationwide for the upcoming general elections.
