The Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, has strongly condemned the recent wave of brutal killings that have shocked the nation, calling for swift justice and greater respect for human life.
Delivering his message during a Eucharistic celebration at Ggaba Parish on Parish Day, Archbishop Ssemogerere expressed deep sorrow over the senseless violence, particularly referring to the tragic murder of a couple in Entebbe who had recently returned to Uganda after many years abroad.
Archbishop said with visible emotion that it is deeply painful and inhumane for someone to butcher a fellow human being as if they were slaughtering an animal.
He urged the relevant authorities to act decisively and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice without delay.
The deceased, David Mutaaga and Deborah Florence Mutaaga, had just returned from Switzerland and were settling back into life in Uganda.
On Sunday, July 6th, the couple hosted a party at their home in Lugonjo, Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District, to celebrate their return with friends and relatives.
Tragically, the same evening, they were brutally murdered.
Police are still investigating the incident, and no arrests had been confirmed at the time of reporting.
Archbishop Ssemogerere’s message echoed the grief and outrage felt across the country, as the public demands answers and increased security to prevent such heinous acts from recurring.
