The Bishop of Lugazi Diocese Rt. Rev. Christopher Kakooza has warned Youths against lawlessness and irresponsible living.
Bishop Kakooza says its unfortunate that Youths in their productive age are in criminal groups commonly known in vernacular as Eggali, that cause mayhem to society claiming to be looking for their fortune which is totally against the law.
He draw his message from the good Samaritan who offered help and support to the affected saying Youths and all Ugandans should explore the government opportunities through programs like Parish Development Model to improve on their income and the family wellbeing.
In a message delivered on his behalf by the Chancellor of Lugazi Diocese Fr. John Chrysostom Sserwadda, Bishop Kakooza said it has been proven that poverty is the leading contributing factor to domestic violence, child neglect, criminal gangs, lawlessness among others.
This was During a thanks giving mass for the 11th anniversary of St. Charles Lwanga Kyabakadde Parish in Mukono District where Bishop Kakooza challenged Catholics to be a blessing to others by, being responsible citizens in their locality and to the country Uganda, observe God’s commandments, support their families and the Church.
At least 100 children were conferred with the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation.
St. Charles Lwanga Kyabakadde Parish that is headed by Rev. Fr. Kizito Ssembajwe a missionary priest of the Congregation of the Assumption, also known as the Augustinians of the Assumption, was started by the late Archbishop Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga in 2014, to bring services nearer to people within his home place.
