At least 15 Palestinians including eight children and two women have been killed in an Israeli airstrike near a medical point in central Gaza, according to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
The hospital reported that the strike hit a group of people who were queueing for nutritional supplements in the town of Deir al-Balah.
Graphic footage from the hospital showed several children and other victims lying on the floor as medics worked to treat the wounded.
The Israeli military said the strike targeted a “Hamas terrorist” in the area.
It added that it “regretted any harm to uninvolved individuals” and that the incident was “under review.”
Elsewhere in Gaza, another 26 people were reportedly killed in airstrikes on Thursday, even as Israeli and Hamas delegations held indirect talks in Doha aimed at securing a new ceasefire and hostage release agreement.
