Additionally, police recorded 24 cases of stolen bags—mostly belonging to women—and successfully recovered 15 of these items.
However, no arrests have been made in relation to the stolen bags.
Law enforcement also apprehended one suspect for selling forged pilgrimage certificates linked to Lugazi Catholic Diocese, as well as a man who allegedly attempted to assault a woman during the celebrations.
Seven cases of stolen money were reported, resulting in the arrest of two suspects.
Two more individuals were detained for possession of counterfeit currency.
Owoyesigyire further disclosed that one person was held for alleged possession of government stores, and three others were found in possession of ammunition.
The police continue investigations and urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to ensure safety during such mass gatherings.
