The Chairperson of the National Assembly of the Republic of Namibia, Lucas Sinimbo, has called on Ugandans to uphold unity and peace ahead of the 2026 general elections, stressing the need to preserve national stability and ensure continued progress.
Speaking to journalists at the Speaker’s Boardroom in Parliament upon his arrival in Uganda, Sinimbo emphasized the importance of revolutionary leadership in shaping Africa’s development.
He cited Uganda’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, as a key example of a transformative leader whose vision has significantly influenced the country’s progress.
He urged the Ugandan electorate to remain committed to the values inspired by such leadership.
Sinimbo is in Uganda to attend the State of the Nation Address, scheduled for tomorrow.
His visit highlights the strong and growing diplomatic and parliamentary relationsbetween Namibia and Uganda.
Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, Anita Among, officially welcomed Sinimbo and praised the enduring partnership between the two nations.
She noted that shared values and continued cooperation serve as a foundation for unity between the people of Namibia and Uganda.
Speaker Among also expressed her gratitude for Sinimbo’s evident affection for Uganda, noting that his decision to personally attend the State of the Nation Address is a clear demonstration of his commitment to fostering closer ties.
