Aggrey Kibenge, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, has urged younger women to take advantage of government initiatives aimed at enhancing their socio-economic well-being.
Speaking during the Gender-Inclusive Financing and Innovation Expo in Kampala, organized by the GROW project under the theme Catalyzing Innovation for Gender-Inclusive Finance, Kibenge stressed the need to empower women through inclusive financial access and innovative solutions.
He pointed to key government programs such as the Growth Opportunities for Wealth and Regional Development (GROW) and the Parish Development Model (PDM), which are designed to support small businesses, farmers, and entrepreneurs as part of broader efforts to promote national economic development.
Kibenge also emphasized the importance of using public funds responsibly.
He noted that accessing support is only the first step, and that lasting benefits will depend on investing in sustainable projects that generate income and create employment opportunities.
