Mpuuga hits back at Kyagulanyi, calls him a “Political Joker” and threatens legal action

Mpuuga hits back at Kyagulanyi,

Nyendo-Mukungwe Member of Parliament and former National Unity Platform (NUP) Vice President for Central Region, Mathias Mpuuga, has responded strongly to recent accusations made by party president Robert Kyagulanyi.

Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, on Monday accused Mpuuga of playing a role in the arrests of NUP members, including the recent detention of Eddie Mutwe, a close aide.

Speaking at the party headquarters, Kyagulanyi suggested that internal betrayal had led to a growing number of arrests within the party.

In a press briefing at Parliament on Wednesday, Mpuuga dismissed the allegations, describing them as baseless and defamatory.

He criticized Kyagulanyi’s leadership approach, saying it lacked the maturity and strategic vision required for political liberation.

He further claimed that the NUP president was using emotional appeals to score political points at the expense of others’ reputations.

Mpuuga also announced that he is considering legal action against Kyagulanyi over the accusations, citing damage to his name and character.

This latest exchange adds to the growing signs of internal friction within NUP, Uganda’s leading opposition party, and raises concerns about unity ahead of future electoral contests.
