The Government of Uganda has paid tribute to Pope Francis describing him as an extraordinary spiritual leader, committed to revitalize the church in an increasing secular world.
His humility torched many and support for peace leaves a lot to tell, his spirit for interfaith gave him the true sense of a spiritual leader helping all to inherit God’s Kingdom, the message noted.
His legacy of love, unity and service to humanity cannot be underestimated therefore the government of Uganda sympathizes with the Catholic fraternity in Uganda and around the world during this trying moment.
This is part of the condolence message by President Museveni to Vatican read on his behalf to the congregation at the special requiem mass to pray for Pope Francis at Lubaga Cathedral by the Vice President Jessica Alupo.
The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga on behalf of Buganda Kingdom in a message read on his behalf by Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule described Pope Francis as a humble servant, full of love, humility and unwavering dedication for the common good that should be emulated.
