The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa has called for cohesion amongst Members of Parliament especially at this time of political anxiety.
Tayebwa revealed this in his communication to Parliament as he opened Tuesday afternoon’s plenary session, saying that he had received complaints from several MPs accusing colleagues of de-campaigning them in their constituencies.
He urged MPs to respect fellow MPs’ jurisdiction and in case one wishes to contest against a fellow MP, it should be done respectfully.
The Deputy Speaker also asked MPs to always inform the area MPs in case one was to be hosted in the area to maintain calmness, peace and courtesy.
