Former Nakasongola District Woman Member of Parliament (MP), Margret Komuhangi has passed away.
Reports indicate that she died in a hospital in India.
Sande Rogers Bwanga, the Nakasongola District Speaker has confirmed the passing of the former legislator.
Komuhangi served two terms as the Woman MP from 2011 to 2021 and was the flag bearer for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the 2021 elections, where she lost her seat to the current Woman MP, Victorious Zawedde.
At the time of her death, she was serving as the Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League in Nakasongola District, according to Bwanga.
Bwanga informed Radio Sapientia that a special council session has been scheduled for Friday, January 17th 2025 to pay tribute to the late ex-legislator at the hall she constructed in Migyeera Town Council.
