The Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has advised students to utilize the time and opportunities at hand while still in school.
He urged them to put the acquired skills and knowledge from school to use after finishing school to support the transformation of families, society and their communities.
His Grace Ssemogerere made this call during his pastoral visit at the Uganda Catholic Management and Training Institute Lubaga where he also celebrated mass with the management and students of the institute on Tuesday.
He encouraged Ugandans to embrace the principle of “Buy Uganda Build Uganda” (BUBU) by supporting the local products produced by students from local institutions.
On this note he encouraged the faithful in Kampala Archdiocese to join this institution for quality service and skills development for the young learners in Uganda.
The Archbishop also planted a tree and inspected an exhibition where students showcased their pieces of work in line with their academic courses.
Meanwhile, the Archbishop after enjoying a poem presented by one of the students who belongs to the Pro-Life Movement about abortion practices, he advised young people; girls and boys never to be attempted to kill unborn babies in the wombs of their mothers because it is a grave sin and a curse.
He said that Pro-life came as a result of the encyclical; “Laudato si” published by Pope Francis which talks about taking care of our common homes, human life and animals so that people can live happily together, claiming that it is very absurd that people purposely kill babies for their selfish interests.
He applauded the recently elected President of the United States of America, Donald Trump who is against abortion, homosexuality and other evils.
In her message, the Principal of the Uganda Catholic Management and Training Institute Lubaga, Dr. Clemensia Nassuuna informed the Archbishop that the institution offers both certificate and diploma courses under Humanity and Hospitality departments to both local and foreign students.
