Landlords from the Kiteezi area in Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso district whose houses were demolished following the garbage landslide in August this year have stormed the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) headquarters at City Hall in Kampala questioning the delay in their compensation processes.
They claim that the Government has delayed in handling their case exposing them to unhygienic living conditions.
They want the authorities at KCCA to speed up the process and be compensated on time.
The landlords were also unhappy with the failure by the acting KCCA Executive Director Frank Nyakaana Rusa to show up in the anticipated meeting that was to be held last Friday without any communication, questioning his concern for their plight.
It should be noted that KCCA promised to handle the compensation process for the losses these people suffered together with the Office of the Prime Minister but to date not much has been done for them since the Kiteezi disaster of August 10th 2024.
