Disregard wrong teaching about Mother Mary- Fr. Bwangatto

Pastoral Coordinator in the Archdiocese of Kampala Fr. Dr. Ambrose Bwangatto

The Pastoral Coordinator in the Archdiocese of Kampala Fr. Dr. Ambrose Bwangatto has critised groups and individuals that spread wrong teaching and interpretation about Mother Mary.

He says the Roman Catholic Church believes and respects Mother Mary because she is the mother of God the saviour of humanity.

However those who don’t have deep understanding and teaching about the Catholic faith, its doctrine, values and principles by abusing mother Mary calling her an envelope used to carry Jesus should seek understanding from the relevant authorities to avoid confusion and instigating religious wars.

Fr. Bwangatto said this while leading the Eucharistic Celebration for this year’s Children Rosary Rally 2024 under the theme; “Behold Your Mother – John 19:27” organised by the Holy Family Ministries. It is an annual event aimed at helping the children to understand and Pray through the intercession of Mother Mary to God to receive their needs.

Fr. Bwangatto called upon children to grow with a spirit of respect to other people’s faiths and seek for knowledge and understanding from God if they are to achieve their goals and successes in life.

He reminded the children of the saying that goes; “the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom” saying that whoever seeks for wisdom must first know God but less of that the world will create an empty society that doesn’t respect humanity, life and environment.

The rally was held at Nsambya Parish at the offices of the Holy Cross Family Ministries in Makindye Division Kampala Uganda on October 25th, 2024. Over 600 catholic children from Primary Schools around Nsambya Parish participated with their teachers. They matched with the portrait of Mother Mary, recited the rosary and after the Eucharist Mass the Primary Seven candidates present were blessed to excel in their forthcoming Primary Leaving Examinations PLE.

At least over 700,000 pupils will be sitting their PLE from 4th to 7th November 2024.
