2 People killed in Gas Cylinder Blast

Two people, an Indian and a Ugandan national have perished in an explosion caused by a gas cylinder in Rubaga Division in Kampala city.

According to the preliminary reports from the police, Andrajt Baraya, an Indian national and one Amos, a Ugandan were operating an oxygen plant during their day shift when a gas cylinder exploded causing their deaths.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson says that this tragic incident involved a suspected act of negligence that led to the deaths of the two individuals at approximately 9:50 am on Thursday morning at Sembuule A Zone in Kabowa Parish, Rubaga Division.

He says that the police, together with experts, are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the explosion and are working to determine its cause.
