The embattled members of the DP-Bloc pressure group including Michael Mabikke, Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku and Henry Lubowa have refuted allegations that they were suspended from the DP-Bloc for contradicting with the values of the group.
This is after a letter allegedly signed by one Vincent Mayanja which was circulated on social media and different mainstream media platforms indicating that the three were stopped from executing work with the DP-Bloc until thorough investigations are done on their conduct.
While addressing journalists at their DP-Bloc headquarters along Balintuma Road, Mabikke laughed off these allegations saying no one can suspend them from the Bloc because they are its leaders.
Mabikke adds that those suspending them are just opportunists looking for political mileage and called on their sympathizers to disregard the statements and focus on building leaders who are going to cause change in Uganda.
At the same press conference, Mabikke also faulted the argument by seasoned politician, Dr. Kizza Besigye and the acting President of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Katonga faction, Erias Lukwago who called upon Members of Parliament to stop talking about constitutional reforms under the current regime but concentrate on transition saying that their decision is farfetched.
Besigye and his group made these statements while addressing the nation on Independence Day on October 9th 2024 from where he urged Ugandans to focus on re-liberating the country.
