The Democratic Party (DP) has condemned its fellow opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) over its failure to involve other political parties in the process of voting the new Leaders in parliament.

Acting Secretary General Gerald Siranda told the press today in Kampala that they were never consulted on the changes and appointments, questioning the kind of brotherhood claimed when they can be sidelined over such a simple matter.

Last week, FDC president Patrick Amuriat made changes in the opposition parliament leadership dropping Winifred Kiiza as the Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP) and replaced her by Hon. Betty Aol Ochan, Kawempe South MP, Mubarak Munyagwa replaced Abdu Katuntu as the chairperson of the committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises and his vice Angelina Osege among other changes.

However, he has welcomed the new LOP and asked the outgoing team to assist the incomers to strengthen the opposition.

Meanwhile DP has joined FDC to demand Electoral Commission (EC) to to gazette the recently concluded Local Councils elections.
