At least 26 suspects have been arrested in connection to the death of Maj. Joseph Mukiranine, the Manager of Wazalendo SACCO Entebbe Branch.
It is alleged that Maj. Mukiranine, 44, rented an accommodation room at Birunga Guest House in Kiwatule on May 25, 2022 and on the following day, which is yesterday, the army officer was found dead.
Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson says that upon receiving the notification of his death, a joint team of police and Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence -CMI conducted an operation around the guest house and managed to arrest the 26 suspects to help in the investigations.
Onyango however, extends condolences to the Uganda Peoples Defense Force -UPDF, Wazalendo SACCO and the deceased’s relatives upon his death.
