Hadijah Nantalo, who won the Chairpersonship for Lwantale L Village in Kyazanga Township in Lwengo district in the just concluded Village Women Council elections, has been found murdered.

The 40years old mother of two daughters is said to have been ambushed while on her way back home under the company of her siblings and stubbed to death over yet unknown motive.

The Greater Masaka Police Spokesperson Lameck Kigozi says the deceased’s daughters, who managed to escape the attack, identified one among the two suspects in the custody, Ibrahim Sekabira said to be a son of one of the candidates, the deceased defeated in the elections.

Police is still hunting for the other suspects and investigating the exact motive of the murder.

This comes as the country warms up for the LCI elections that was last held in 2001 and already government has declared Tuesday July 10 a public holiday to enable all Ugandans participate in the exercise according to the Director Inspection and Quality Assurance in the Ministry of Public Service.
